The drawer is about 36" long horizontally and almost 14" wide vertically. It should be able to fit both unless your keyboard is one of those bulky ones.

No, it is not. This desk is made to sit against a wall. When I purchased this piece of furniture, I had the exact same plan but found no pictures of both sides. I assumed it was finished on both sides but it is not. If you are looking for a piece to be viewed from both sides I would suggest that you bypass this piece.

No. The back is simple, and bare. It doesn't look bad to show the back, it's just not the best looking side.

The back side has 32 small nail heads showing that keep two pieces of trim on.

I actually went specifically to a Walmart store to see the back of the desk today and it is finished enough to show the back. I don't know if the design has changed since some of the earlier reviews, but I too will have the back facing the door and it really does not look bad at all. All the edges are finished - even the edges on the inside of the flip-down drawer are finished. I have five bookcases that match this desk and it all looks great together.
